Why Slate?

Our company uses Vermont slate that comes in sizes ranging from 10” X6” to
24” X 14” depending on the size that is on the existing structure. It comes in various colors.Visit the Products page for a description. The thickness of slate varies from 3/16” up to 1” thickness.

A well maintained Vermont slate roof will last for over 100 years.

People use slate for roofing for the following reasons: beauty, strength, durability, fireproof water resistance and minimum maintenance. One of the major issues with slate roofs is that the valleys and flashings rot out long before the slate wears out. We are often replacing valleys and flashings that have rotted out.
